Summer of Stars, this is the Disney’s Channel summer theme for this year. Summer of the Stars program will begin May 30, 2009 (Saturday) and will end on August this year. Disney Channel is known for its original sitcoms geared toward teenagers, and sometimes airs its original cartoons geared more towards upper-elementary and middle school age children. That is why Disney Channel design a new programming block each summer since 2005.

This year’s summer theme Summer of Stars will line up new episodes and uninterrupted movies airings. On the Disney’s regular schedule will air episodes of The Suite Life on Deck, Phineas and Ferb and Wizards of Waverly Place will take over the Fridays slot on top of several feature films. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe will be aired uninterrupted on June 19.

Saturdays on Disney’s Summer Stars will have double movies programming. This coming June 2 the back-to-back High School Musical and High School Musical 2 will be aired. Others movies like Happy Feet, Another Cinderella Story and Ratatouille will scheduled on later Saturdays.

Coming on Sundays starting June 7 there are new episodes for “Sonny with a Chance“, “Hannah Montana” and “J.O.N.A.S!“. New Disney Channel Original Movies are lined up for this summer particularly the Princess Protection Program which stars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. Princess Protection Program will premier on June 26 while Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie will be shown sometime in August before the summer ends.
