The story of The Last song was based upon the novel written by the best-selling author Nicholas Sparks with the same title. Sparks, is the same guy who wrote best-selling books “A Walk To Remember” and “The Notebook” that become blockbuster movie as well.
The plot of the Last Song is centered on the rebellious seventeen-year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller whose life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Tybee Island in Georgia. After three years Ronnie becomes as rebellious and distant anyone could get. Ronnie is a genius in classical piano but after the divorce or her parents Ronnie now rejects the instrument in favor of partying with her friends and has not spoken to her father since he left. Ronnie has been accepted to Juilliard School but she refuses to attend.
One summer, Ronnie and her brother Jonah were sent to Tybee Island for vacation. A chance for the father and daughter to reconnect. Upon her to the island, Ronnie is depressed, hostile and defensive toward all those around her, including handsome, popular Will Blakelee – until, after both she and Will become involved in protecting a Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest. She discovers Will is deeper than she believed. As Ronnie falls in love with Will, she also manages to reconnect the bond with her father through the one thing they have in common- music.
The Last Song is scheduled to for a wide release on April 2, 2010 March 31, 2010. Meanwhile enjoy The Last Song Official Trailer.

Tybee Island Georgia? WTH, The story takes place in Wrightsville Beach, NC…
@Jessica -yes, you are right. on the book the setting of the story is in Wilmington, North Carolina (not Wrightsville) but on the movie (according to IMDB and wikipedia) the setting is on Tybee Island in Georgia.
i can’t wait for the movie. i’m getting the book for christmas. hopefully. anyway i just thought i’ll let you know that the picture you used isn’t the official movie poster. before miley deleted her twittered account she stated that the poster wasn’t the right one and that she doesn’t play the guitar in the movie and she doesn’t wear her own clothing line. so yeah. it’s a pretty good fan made one if you ask me

She’s actually worse in the book. She has purple hair streak, I’m pretty sure that’s close to her clothing line, so anyways, the book is amazing, I hope you got it! It’s very sad, and the name of the book has nothing to do with Ronnie and Will. You’ll have to wait and see why it’s called that!(: I practically know what all is going to happen. Ahh I can’t wait! March 31 get here soon!(:
the book is really good. sorry to give it away but its called the last song because her dads dying in the end an he was writing a song but then didnt have the strength to finish it so ronnie finished and it was his last song.

OMG!!! I saw so many commercials, sneak peeks, film clips, and featurettes. The good news is that it’s rated PG. I was worried because I thought it was PG-13 but thank goodness that it is not because I am only 11. So I cannot wait until next week. I am going to go watch it. So watch the movie. I read the book and it is great, but a little bit sad. Oh, well. Coming out March 31st. CAN’T WAIT!!
