Princess Protection Program 2?
Whoops!!! Stop right there! This is not an official announcement from Disney but just a wishful thinking on my part. I really, really wish that there would be a Princess Protection Program 2. I want to see Rosie and Carter going to some adventure of being a teenager. I guess everyone who had seen the Princess Protection Program would agree with me that the movie is worthy to have a part 2.
On the premiere of Princess Protection Program last June 26, it garnered a whooping 8.5 million viewers placing the PPP in the third place as most watch Disney Channel Original Movie. On that same night Princess Protection Program had made the Disney Channel the number one channel for prime time viewers on Friday, taking the spot from NBC. The Disney Channel was over NBC by about 1 million viewers. The Princess Protection Program has also beaten the premiere of the new season of The Closer in TNT who recorded 7.1 million viewers.
Why should Disney consider having a sequel for Princess Protection Program? Here’s what I thought. PPP is now officially the third most watched Disney Channel Original Movie, next to High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock, and both the High School Musical and Camp Rock got sequels. Another reason, in the recently concluded 2009 Teen Choice Awards, the Princess Protection Program won as Choice Summer TV Show and Selena Gomez (Carter) won the Choice Summer TV Star Female for the Princess Protection Program. This simply shows that the Princess Protection Program is well-accepted from the teen audiences and it is really worthy to have a sequel, the Princess Protection Program 2.
